What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Access Supervisor position at Gastroenterology Consultants of Savannah PC?
This is a full-time on-site role for a Patient Access Supervisor located in the Greater Savannah Area. The Patient Access Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring an efficient clinic schedule and support the administrative department team of 12 members responsible for scheduling patient appointments, medical records and referral intake. Works with upper management and practice physicians to ensure that the department operates with professionalism and efficiency. This position requires exceptional knowledge of department workflows, duties, and expectations, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks, problem solve, properly manage time, and communicate effectively.
Education:
Background in business administration or related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
Minimum five years of experience in a medical office.
Experience in a supervisory role preferred.
Physician office coordination experience: front office, patient scheduling, referral intake and medical records.
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge:
Sufficient knowledge of policies and procedures to accurately answer questions from internal and external customers.
Broad-based knowledge of relevant insurance regulations and familiarity with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
Skills:
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, patients, organizations and the public.
Skill in developing, implementing, and monitoring operational processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Abilities:
Ability to communicate in writing, over the telephone, and in person with office staff and insurance representatives.
Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems, and correct errors.
Ability to conceptualize workflow, develop plans, and implement appropriate actions.
