Medical Assistant (Certified/Registered)
Gastroenterology Associates of Gainesville P.C. is seeking an experienced Certified/Registered Medical Assistants to work in a growing specialty physician office. In this position, an applicant can expect to work interdependently with other medical professionals to provide quality health care to the patient. The medical assistant provides direct patient care under the direction of a physician by managing patient charts and assuming responsibility for all patient requests. Travel to satellite offices will be required in this position.
Hours:
Monday-Thursday: 8:00am-5:00pm or 7:30am-4:30pm
Friday: 8:00am-12:00pm or 7:30am-11:30pm
*36hr work week
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant Certification, required
Job Requirements:
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Quick learner and willing to train on new skills
- Friendly and professional attitude
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Fast-paced work ethic
- Computer literate
- Stand/work on his/her feet for 7-8 hours a day and view computer screens for long periods of time
Additional Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Love of patients and providing excellent care
- Confidential handling of patient’s accounts and records
- Obtain patient’s medical records from referring offices, when needed
- Preparing exams, rooming patients, taking history and vitals
- Maintains cleanliness and stocking of exam rooms
- Monitors schedule and organizes patient flow
- Perform initial patient work up
- Possible injections/blood draws
- Assisting physicians in procedures
- Calling in prescription refills to pharmacies, when needed
- Answers and returns patient call in a timely and efficient manner
- HIPAA and OSHA Compliant
Preferred Qualifications:
- (1 ) year(s) of experience in a customer service setting
- (3 ) years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
- Current CPR certification required
Language:
- Bilingual (Spanish and English), preferred
Drug Free Workplace:
Extensive criminal background check, reference check and drug screen will be performed.
