Role Description
GASTON COUNTY SCHOOLS is seeking a dedicated High School Mathematics Teacher for a full-time, on-site position in Belmont, NC. The teacher will develop and deliver engaging mathematics lessons in alignment with state standards, covering subjects such as algebra and related fields. Responsibilities include creating detailed lesson plans, providing individualized support for students’ varying academic needs, assessing and evaluating student progress, managing a positive classroom environment, and collaborating with colleagues and administrators. The teacher will also communicate regularly with parents and contribute to a culture of high academic expectations.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in teaching Mathematics concepts such as Algebra and related disciplines
- Experience in developing and implementing effective lesson plans
- Strong Communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues
- Prior experience teaching middle or high school students
- State teaching license in mathematics and/or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mathematics education, or a related field
- Ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment
- Familiarity with integrating technology into lesson plans is a plus
