What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal position at Gass Turek LLC?
Gass Turek seeks a litigation paralegal with at least five years of experience and fully capable of assisting our attorneys in all phases of the litigation lifecycle, ranging from pre-complaint investigation through trial and appeal.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively participating in document collection and production, deposition preparation, hearings and trials;
- Organizing and maintaining electronic case file;
- Employing databases for searches and document retrieval;
- Conducting cite checks and case pulls on Westlaw;
- Conducting factual and substantive internet research on witnesses, potential experts, and jurors; and
- Preparing litigation work product for attorneys including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, records summaries, trial notebooks and evidence for trials and hearings.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least five years of litigation paralegal experience;
- Bachelor's degree with high academic standing;
- Paralegal certification strongly desired;
- Excellent communication skills;
- The ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at once;
- The initiative to problem-solve;
- Strong research skills;
- Proficiency using computer software (MS Office, Adobe Professional, litigation support applications), Westlaw, and the internet; and
- Knowledge of e-discovery practices and platforms.
