What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Construction Technician position at Gasoline Equipment?
Gasoline Equipment Service Company is hiring a Concrete Construction Technician to join our construction team.
This is not a seasonal concrete position. We provide year-round work. During the construction season, you will focus heavily on concrete projects. When concrete work slows, you will continue working on general construction and petroleum equipment installation projects.
Many concrete companies lay employees off during the winter. GESCO works to keep our team employed throughout the year.
Concrete Experience Is Required
Applicants must have hands-on experience with:
- Forming and preparing concrete areas
- Pouring and placing concrete
- Screeding, floating, edging, and jointing
- Producing smooth, level, properly finished surfaces
- Concrete repair, curing, sealing, and restoration
- Using screeds, floats, trowels, saws, vibrators, compactors, and other concrete tools
- Reading measurements, elevations, plans, and job instructions
Experience with commercial flatwork, sidewalks, pads, equipment foundations, and similar projects is preferred.
What You Will Do
During concrete season, you will:
- Prepare sites, grades, forms, and reinforcement
- Pour, place, finish, repair, and restore concrete
- Perform demolition, excavation, backfilling, and site cleanup
- Operate construction tools and equipment safely
Throughout the rest of the year, you will also assist with:
- General construction
- Excavation
- Plumbing and electrical conduit
- Petroleum equipment installation
- Equipment and system repairs
- Job-site support
What We Are Looking For
- Prior concrete construction or finishing experience is required
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work outdoors
- Dependable attendance and strong attention to detail
- Willingness to perform different construction duties throughout the year
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Schedule
Monday through Friday, typically 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Occasional evenings, weekends, early starts, and overnight travel may be required depending on the project.
