Project Surveyor / Professional Land Surveyor

Pape-Dawson is currently seeking a Professional Land Surveyor / Project Surveyor for our Orlando, FL office.

This position leads and manages land surveying projects as well as the Land Survey staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and review activities and deliverables of field and office staff assigned to various land surveying projects.
• Work closely with engineering staff and clients.
• Provide guidance and direction to the Survey Technicians.
• Manages and schedules individual projects.
• Performs or delegates tasks as assigned by the Survey Department Manager or Survey Project Manager.
• Performs calculations and prepares field packages.
• Processes acquired field data into a neat and accurate plat of survey and/or Metes and Bounds description.
• Responsible for quality control of drawings and legal descriptions prepared by others.
• Resolves boundary line issues.
• Signs and seals completed drawings, legal descriptions, and surveyor’s reports.

Qualifications

• Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM or PLS).
• 0-4 years as a PLS.
• Must have experience with ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, topographic surveys, wetland surveys, final plat and as-built surveys, and construction staking.
• Must have strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with project-related budget management and invoicing.
• Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships. - Ability to handle complex issues/problems.
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. - Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees in the organization, both verbally and written.
• Must be dependable and reliable.
• Must have drafting experience and a team-oriented approach to helping complete final drafting products

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, is a plus.
