Job Title: Fleet Maintenance Manager

This role is responsible for oversight of three (3) main maintenance facilities and two (2) satellite facilities that provide complete maintenance for a fleet of over 150 bottle and tanker trucks serving the oil and gas industry in SW Pennsylvania, Northern WV and Eastern OH. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost‑effective maintenance operations, including preventative maintenance programs, inventory control, parts procurement, and purchase order management.
You’ll lead a team of 40 mechanics, coordinate daily workloads, and ensure all repairs and preventive maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage daily operations across multiple diesel maintenance facilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of ~40 diesel mechanics and technicians
- Ensure compliance with preventative maintenance schedules and inspection programs
- Oversee parts inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships
- Review and approve purchase orders for parts, tools, and services
- Monitor maintenance performance, vehicle uptime, and repair quality
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards
- Control maintenance costs while maintaining fleet reliability
- Perform all Mechanic I, II, and III responsibilities.
- Keep all assigned vehicle maintenance files current including all DOT compliance-related documentation for mechanical work performed on transport vehicles.
- Perform or coordinate emergency maintenance, breakdown repairs on fleet vehicles.
- Coordinate outside repairs on equipment, annual tanker certifications, inspections, and documentation.
- Maintain truck shop area, order parts, material, oils, lubricants, shop supplies.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and provide guidance on complex repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports.
- Train new mechanics and support ongoing skill development for the team.
- Collaborate with operations and management to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years of diesel or fleet maintenance management experience
- Strong working knowledge of diesel truck systems and repair operations
- Proven experience managing large maintenance teams or multiple locations
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs (Fleetio) and inventory control
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Budgeting and cost‑control experience
- Oil and gas industry experience preferred
Work Environment
- Combination of office and shop floor settings
- Regular travel between maintenance facilities – must be able to report to one of the following locations: Belmont, OH, Washington, PA or Little Hocking, OH.
- Occasional afterhours or on‑call responsibilities
Pay: $140,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
