What are the responsibilities and job description for the Promotions Intern position at Gary SouthShore RailCats?
PROMOTIONS RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with creating and executing in-game entertainment
- Writing scripts for the on-field MC
- Interacting with fans and finding participants for between inning activities
- Coordinating with the game producer
- Executing sponsorship agreements during the game
- Organizing giveaways and setting up theme nights
- Assist with mascot appearances and other off-site events
- Assist with pocket schedule distribution
- Other duties as assigned
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

- Creativity and motivation – I will give you a lot of freedom in this position. I want you to use that to make an engaging stadium environment
- Be excited to work in a professional sports environment
- Fan and community engagement (mascot appearances, pocket schedule delivery, etc)
- Assist with stadium cleanliness
- Special events
- Assist with all tarp pulls - which may include non-game days, weekends and or holidays
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate (preferably junior or senior) or graduate student attending accredited university
- Must be able to earn college credit for internship-no exceptions
- Must be able to commit to work the entire internship period from start to finish
- Must be able to work unpredictable hours
- Willingness and ability to work long hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as required
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks at any given time
- Highly motivated with strong work ethic
- Passion for sports and strong desire to work in a team environment
- Preference is given to those with knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud – Canva will not be allowed during this internship
COMPENSATION: $750 per month
