Bakery Clerk

In this role, you'll be the friendly face behind the bakery counter, assisting customers with their selections, preparing delicious baked goods, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your passion for baking and customer service will contribute to a lively atmosphere that keeps our community coming back for more This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary expertise while delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced, dynamic setting. This position requires early morning shifts, generally starting around 5 AM. There will be occasions when it will require earlier shifts.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide expert assistance with bakery products, including cake decorating, packaging, and food presentation.
• Prepare and assemble baked goods, pastries, and other food items with precision and care, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Handle food production tasks such as mixing, baking, decorating cakes, and pastry preparation while adhering to food safety standards.
• Package baked goods efficiently for sale or catering orders, maintaining presentation quality and freshness.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, including equipment sanitation and stock replenishment.
• Assist with food handling procedures, ensuring all products meet health regulations and safety guidelines.
• Support catering events or restaurant-related activities as needed, demonstrating versatility in food preparation and kitchen experience.

Skills

• Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry making, or baking within a food industry setting.
• Strong food handling skills with knowledge of food safety protocols.
• Excellent customer service abilities to engage with diverse clientele confidently.
• Skilled in food preparation techniques including cooking, pastry work, and kitchen operations.
• Proficient knife skills for slicing, decorating, and preparing ingredients efficiently.
• Experience in packaging baked goods attractively for retail or catering purposes.

Pay: $ $17.00 per hour
