Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, bulldozers, and other industrial machinery.
- Utilize OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals and schematics to accurately troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, brake repairs, transmission servicing, and tire service to maximize equipment lifespan.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, and power tools to ensure optimal functionality.
- Repair and maintain diesel engines, air brake systems, suspension components, hydraulics, and HVAC systems on various machinery.
- Operate heavy equipment for testing purposes after repairs to verify proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure transparency and accountability.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment or industrial machinery repair in a dealership or service environment.
- Strong knowledge of Caterpillar (CAT) equipment or similar OEM brands is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, electrical diagnostics, hydraulics, transmissions, and air brake systems.
- Familiarity with schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex machinery issues.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environmental conditions.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and vehicle maintenance techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
