We’re Hiring: Director of Accounting & Administration
Gary Comer Youth Center – Chicago, IL | Full-Time, Exempt
Are you a mission-driven finance leader who believes in the power of young people? The Gary Comer Youth Center (GCYC) is seeking a Director of Accounting & Administration to steward our financial operations and help strengthen the systems that advance our work with more than 2,000 Chicago youth each year.
In this senior leadership role, you will:
- Lead GCYC’s finance function with transparency, strategy, and care
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, audit, cash management, and internal controls
- Partner across departments to ensure strong grant and fund accounting
- Support HR administration and organizational policies
- Manage and mentor a small, high-performing accounting team
- Serve as a key liaison to our Board and Finance/Audit Committee
GCYC is a nationally recognized model for place-based youth development. Our campus includes an 80,000 sq. ft. facility, urban farm, Best Buy Teen Tech Center—and earned revenue streams from catering, farm sales, and facility space reservations that support our long-term sustainability and mission.
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Deep nonprofit finance experience (GAAP, restricted funds, government grants)
- A commitment to equity, youth power, and community
- Strong analytical, operational, and leadership skills
- A collaborative spirit and a love of building systems that help organizations thrive
