What are the responsibilities and job description for the Body Shop Estimator position at Garry's Collision?
If you are seasoned estimator who enjoys what you do but feel overwhelmed by your current workload or compensation structure, I'd like to talk with you. My goal is to help you find a healthier balance while being paid what you're truly worth.
If you're open to exploring a change, bring your current pay plan and workload expectations. I am confident I can offer a stronger, more balanced structure that gives you time to focus on quality estimates, not just speed and volume.
Garry’s Collision has been serving the Rochester community with high-quality repairs since 1979. We are a consistently busy, established shop looking for a quality-minded, skilled estimator who takes pride in doing the job right.
What We Offer:
- A clean, organized shop where technicians actually cooperate with estimators
- Techs who do not fight you on necessary supplements, quality demands, or color match corrections
- A culture where proper repair procedure and OE methods are more important than rushed KPIs
- A workload that is busy but manageable, without nonstop stress or unrealistic expectations
- CCC One estimating and management
- Real work-life balance: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM (No weekends)
- Supportive ownership that respects the estimator role
Candidate Requirements:
- Strong personality, empathy, and high urgency
- Clean and valid driver’s license
- Experience with Microsoft Office and estimating platforms
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and independently solve problems
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Experience with Audatex, CCC One, or MSO/dealer estimating systems
- Strong phone skills and negotiation ability
- Quick learner with a desire to grow
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate properly with insurance companies for complete repair procedures
- Write accurate estimates and repair plans
- Communicate with techs, customers, and team members
- Maintain a clean work area
- Keep vehicle statuses and notes updated daily
- Improve efficiency continuously
- Adapt to changing priorities
- Take ownership of quality and deadlines
Why You Should Apply:
We’re looking for someone long-term who is tired of the MSO grind and wants a stable, respectful, well-run collision shop. Located in Downtown Rochester, walking distance to great lunch spots. Growing operation excited to add another strong team member.
