Garry A. Jones & Associates is a Westlake Village business consulting and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) firm seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team.

Our team serves clients in a wide range of capacities, including income tax preparation and representation, bookkeeping, accounting support, business consulting, forensic accounting matters, and financial reporting services. The firm’s workload consists of approximately 50% income tax services and 50% bookkeeping, accounting, consulting, and forensic work.

Candidates must reside within 20 miles of Westlake Village, California.

Job Duties:
- Prepare individual and business tax returns
- Review client financial information, tax documents, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare governmental filings and related tax reports
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding tax matters and information requests
- Assist with tax planning and year-end projections
- Perform period-end accounting close procedures using established checklists
- Maintain organized electronic client files and documentation
- Assist with additional projects and assignments as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3–5 years of tax preparation experience required
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation preferred
- Strong knowledge of individual and business taxation
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and Lacerte software preferred
- Ability to manage multiple client assignments simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
- Desire to learn, develop professionally, and grow with the company
