Teacher Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required.
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student differences.
- Present the subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, campus policies, and administrative regulations.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the student groups involved.
- Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods in accordance with district requirements.
- Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteer(s).
- Employ the use of technologies in the teaching/learning process.
- Assist students in analyzing and improving methods and habits of study.
- Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and may sponsor outside activities approved by the school.
- Present for students a positive role model that supports the mission of the school district.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Establish control in the classroom and administer discipline in accordance with board policies, campus policies, and administrative regulations.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Assist in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents.
- Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents and community members.
- Use acceptable communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
- Participate in the district staff development program.
- Demonstrate interest and initiative in professional improvement.

Coaching Responsibilities
- Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student athletes in the sport assigned.
- Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
- Work with other members of school staff to plan and put in place instructional goals and objectives to ensure the overall educational development of student athletes.
- Take all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate students' athletic abilities initially and on a regular basis.
- Keep informed of and ensure compliance with all UIL rules.
- Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation.
- Work with athletic director to schedule competitions and coordinate arrangements.
- Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of coaching program and make changes based on findings.
- Accompany and supervise student athletes during athletic competitions in assigned sports on out-of-town trips.
- Instruct and advise students on NCAA regulations with regard to academic requirements for scholarships and recruiting practices.
- Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, and while on trips off school property in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
- Encourage, by example and through instruction, sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic participation.
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
- Review district e-mail at appropriate time(s) during the school day.
- Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
- Assist in selection of equipment and instructional materials.
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
- Maintain a current inventory of all fixed assets within program.
- Oversee process of cleaning, repairing, and storing all campus athletic equipment
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
- Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required in a timely manner.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Arrive and depart school at designated times as required by campus principal.
- Perform any supplemental duties as required by campus principal.
- Notify campus principal prior to leaving campus during the school day.
- Notify campus secretary/principal at earliest possible time if absence from or tardiness to work is needed.
- Comply with all laws, policies, regulations and administrative directives.
