What are the responsibilities and job description for the Upper School Physics Teacher- (One Year Contract) position at Garrison Forest School?
Garrison Forest School seeks a One Year Part Time Upper School Physics Teacher to begin the end of August 2026. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic educator who brings an energetic and contemporary approach to science education. This position reports to the Head of the Upper School and meets with the Science Department Chair. This position has a FTE status of 40%. The salary range for this position is $18,000-$30,000 based on years of experience and education level; the exact compensation will be discussed during the hiring process.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach two Upper School Physics classes
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of curriculum and subject matter
- Create a secure and stimulating environment in which students grow in both autonomy and the ability to work and interact together
- Take responsibility for being a role model by maintaining an environment that fosters respect among students and colleagues
- Possess strong communication skills, a patient and thorough understanding of early adolescence and the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.A. degree or equivalent – Master’s degree desirable
- Prior experience working with high school students in a school
