Garrison Forest School is seeking an experienced individual for a full-time position with the school as an Assistant Director of Facilities. The Assistant Director of Facilities for Garrison Forest School has the responsibility for supervising the day to day operation of the maintenance department and ensures the grounds of the school campus are maintained in a manner that is clean and attractive at all times. The Assistant will work closely with housekeeping personnel to maintain our high standards and will also be responsible to oversee housekeeping staff when the housekeeping supervisor is unavailable. This position reports to the Director of Facilities. This position will start May 2026 and reports to the Director of Facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000 based on years of experience and education level; the exact compensation will be discussed during the hiring process.

Major Duties And Responsibilities
- On call for emergency situations, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
- Evaluate and prioritize work requests and ensures work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Responsible for the scheduling, training and operations of the GFS student bus service
- Coordinate set-ups and details of special events (i.e. Grandparents Day) with Events Coordinator
- Supervise the day-to-day operation of maintenance personnel, encouraging them to take pride in their work.
- Conduct weekly walk-thru inspections of all school and administrative buildings noting deficiencies and ensure corrections are made as soon as possible.
- Speak with the Heads of each division and key personnel on a regular basis to maintain a proactive approach to repairs.
- Prioritize and schedule snow removal activity on campus.
- Maintain inventory control of maintenance supplies, equipment, and vehicles.
- Responsible for maintaining a proactive maintenance schedule for vehicles, buses and equipment. Monitors to ensure user maintenance is accomplished.
- Schedule, supervise and train others in maintaining the campus; ensuring a neat, clean and attractive appearance.
- Monitor a proactive schedule for the maintenance of playing fields and ensures cutting, trimming and line painting are accomplished as required.
- Schedule, supervise and assist with landscape maintenance contractors.
- Assist with other maintenance duties, which include furniture moving, vehicle maintenance and repair, and snow removal.
- Assist with traffic control when necessary.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Previous supervisor experience
- Must have the ability to communicate and work well with others.
- Ability to be detail oriented and have good time management skills
