- Master's Degree, or higher, in an applicable field from an accredited college or university.
- Holds or is eligible for a valid Advanced Professional Certificate/License from the Maryland State Department of Education with the Administrator II (historical) or the new Supervisor of Instruction, Assistant Principal, or Principal endorsement.
- Five years of successful teaching experience at the elementary level preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Energetic, dynamic leader who possesses a strong community vision
- Ability to organize, delegate, and supervise
- Knowledge of effective school practices, including instruction, administration, management, and leadership skills
- Knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and data collection
- Knowledge and understanding of the education laws of Maryland, Maryland State Board of Education, and Garrett County Board of Education policies and procedures preferred.
- Data-driven decision making and experience analyzing data for growth
- Knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
- Provides strong leadership for the instructional and non-instructional programs in accordance with the Garrett County Board of Education's goals, objectives, and priorities

SALARY: Appropriate Step on the A&S Category I Salary Scale - Range $81,177 - $104,299
