Here are some specifics on what we are looking for in this position:
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare contract proposal estimates, post-award purchase orders and subcontracts, and internal job setup documentation.
- Review proposal specifications and drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work and soliciting pricing from qualified vendors and subcontractors.
- Prepare and assemble other information to be submitted with the proposal, such as project organization chart, personnel resumes, unit prices, corporate safety information, price breakouts, quantities, schedules and insurance information.
- Maintain files of working documents as back-up for the estimate, including current information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
- Research, negotiate and prepare purchase orders and subcontracts for awarded projects, including obtaining the necessary insurance requirements.
- Prepare internal job setup documentation, including Advice of Contract form, code of accounts, quantity sheets and copy estimate file.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings with General Contractors and other Subcontractors to establish effective coordination milestones for projects.
- Prepare change orders for extra work, progress payments, work in progress spreadsheets, and close out documents.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong knowledge of all aspects of Construction activities including Scheduling, Design, Permitting, Bidding, Estimating, Contracting, and Job Costing.
- Thorough understanding of database structured programs and reporting.
- Excellent leadership skills, exceptional communication, negotiation and analytical skills required.
- High skills in organization and must be detail oriented.
- Great presentation, oral and written communication skills to address and inform clients, associates and vendors of varying levels.
- The ability to build positive and sustainable relationships with peers, subordinates and vendors.
