Job Summary:

The Harvest Operator plays a critical role in the efficient and timely harvesting of crops. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining various types of machinery essential to the harvest process. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth operations, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment issues to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operates equipment involved in the Harvest, including but not limited to: Shakers, Blowers, Sweepers, V-Rakes, Conditioning Carts, Bank outs and Harvesters.
• Inspects and fuels equipment prior to beginning shift.
• Performs routine maintenance.
• Immediately report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor for timely resolution.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of machinery operation and capabilities.
• Basic mechanical skills to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs
• Ability to use timekeeping technology.
• Ability to follow instructions.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals and explosives. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Work is performed in a high dust environment. Workers must often work in tight, confined claustrophobic spaces.
