Housekeeper

Position Summary:
The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that guest rooms and public areas of the hotel are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained to brand standards. This position plays a vital role in creating a positive guest experience by providing a clean and welcoming environment. The role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks while working independently and as part of a team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Guest Room Cleaning & Maintenance

• Clean assigned guest rooms thoroughly and efficiently, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
• Refresh rooms by replacing linens, towels, and amenities according to brand standards.
• Inspect rooms for cleanliness, maintenance issues, and overall presentation before marking them guest-ready.
• Report any maintenance concerns (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC) to a Supervisor for immediate follow-up.
• Replenish housekeeping carts daily with linens, cleaning supplies, and amenities.

Public Area Cleaning

• Maintain cleanliness of hallways, elevators, lobbies, restrooms, and other public spaces throughout the hotel.
• Empty trash receptacles, polish fixtures, clean windows, and ensure common areas are free of clutter or hazards.
• Assist in cleaning meeting rooms or event spaces as needed.

Team & Departmental Support

• Follow all housekeeping checklists and operational procedures to meet hotel and brand standards.
• Assist coworkers and other departments by responding quickly to requests for extra linens, room supplies, or urgent cleaning needs.
• Participate in daily shift meetings to review room assignments, priorities, and special guest requests.
• Handle lost-and-found items in accordance with hotel policy.

Labor-Intensive & Physical Tasks

• Perform repetitive cleaning tasks such as bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing housekeeping carts, and moving furniture when necessary.
• Safely use cleaning equipment and chemicals, following all safety procedures.
• Maintain pace and stamina to complete assigned rooms within scheduled shift.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience in hotels, healthcare, or similar environments is preferred.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain productivity standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, push/pull housekeeping carts, and stand/walk for long periods.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.

Work Environment:

• Frequent exposure to cleaning agents and chemicals.
• Position requires working in guest rooms, public spaces, and occasionally outdoors.
• Fast-paced environment with repetitive physical tasks and time-sensitive assignments.

NOTE: ALL NEW HIRES ARE UNDER A 90 DAY PROBATIONARY PERIOD AND ARE PAID AT MINIMUM WAGE DURING THAT PERIOD; AFTER AN EMPLOYEE'S PROBARIONARY PERIOD HAS PASSED, A PAY INCREASE BASED OFF PERFORMANCE AND SKILLSET WILL BE DETERMINED AND APPLIED, UP TO THE JOB'S POSTED MAXIMUM HOURLY WAGE

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
