Houston Social Security Disability / Bankruptcy law firm seeks a social security disability legal assistant (bilingual Spanish-English is a plus) for immediate hire. Duties will consist of the following:
Contact clients to update files and request medical records; track cases that the Social Security Administration has not processed payment on; submit evidence electronically; file, maintain contact with the Social Security Administration; prepare bankruptcy petition/schedules/plan; communication with United States Bankruptcy Court / Trustee Office; and general clerical duties. Must be able to multi-task including answer the phones, along with other assistants, while performing above job duties. Must be reliable as to time and attendance.
In addition, This is a high call volume and fast-paced environment with room for growth. Previous experience in Social Security disability cases or Bankruptcy is required.
Qualifications:
\* Excellent Communication Skills (telephone, in-person and written)
\* Detail oriented and independently driven
\* Availability to work from 8:00 to 5:00 pm (M-F) \
* Extremely organized individual with proven ability to multitask
\* Proficient computer skills; Word
\* Ability to handle difficult clients and situations calmly and professionally
\* Strong work ethic
\* Minimum High School Diploma
\* Bilingual (English and Spanish preferred)
Again, Prior Social Security Disability and/or Bankruptcy experience is a requirement!!
