We are seeking a full-time Systems Test Engineer 2 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting successful conception, development, and/or application of sophisticated avionics systems by providing system testing support for moderately complex integrated flight deck programs and/or retrofit product lines.
Essential Functions
- Provides system testing support for developmental requirements of OEM programs
- Communicates status and schedule for the system testing needs applicable to planned deliveries
- Provides feedback to development teams to ensure solutions are designed to meet system testing needs
- Provides troubleshooting support to identify the system root cause
- Provides clear and sufficient detail about issues observed with details sufficient for internal or external customers
- Identifies and implements improvements to system testing processes and tools
- Identifies improvements and modifies tools for use in system testing
- Supports troubleshooting of issues reported by simulation companies and provides clear communication for internal and external customers
- Develops improvements to data packages delivered to simulator companies
- Anticipates and creates solutions for simulator company qualification needs
- Provides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or another related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- Demonstrates knowledge of several complex integrated avionic functions
- Demonstrates mastery of relevant tools for use in system testing
- Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrates knowledge of requirements for simulator qualification
- Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
- Previous work or internship experience with Garmin related products
- Pilot's License
