Essential Functions
- Define and maintain system requirements, system architectures, and technical documentation for avionics systems and functions
- Plan and execute integration testing to verify system requirements and validate functionality against customer expectations
- Troubleshoot complex bench and simulator issues to identify root cause and suggest corrective action
- Clearly communicate issues observed during testing and recommend solutions to engineering teams
- Demonstrates broad understanding of Garmin’s aviation products and services, including customer experience across market segments
- Proactively improve systems integration and test processes, procedures, and tools
- Exemplify Garmin’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Quality Policy and proactively work to improve Garmin’s image and culture
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another relevant technical field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas:
- Systems Integration,
- System Safety
- System Requirements
- System Security
- Must be team-orientated, posses a positive attitude and work well with others Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Master’s Degree in an Engineering field
- Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
- Demonstrated passion for and involvement in the aviation community
- Operational knowledge of Garmin or competitive avionics (e.g pilot's certificate with instrument rating)
- Experience with Avionics certification standards and guidance such as ARP 4754B or 4761A
