What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior - Estimator/Project Manager - HVAC Mechanical position at Garland Heating and Air?
Garland Heating and Air Conditioning is a family owned and operated business in the DFW Area, providing a variety of commercial and residential HVAC services for nearly 70 years!
We are a fast-growing HVAC company and looking for an enthusiastic individual with prior construction billing and estimate experience, especially in putting together proposal packages for construction projects. The individual should be computer savvy and understands construction O&M manuals, drawings/specifications.
Job Summary:
- Manage HVAC Construction timelines and keep tasks organized, Perform AIA billing, QuickBook Entries, Invoicing and familiarity with percentage of completion billing and perform light accounting as needed.
- Familiar with bidding on HVAC jobs and creating estimates for new projects focusing on Waste Water Treatment. Being able to source projects in isqft and other platforms to be able to find projects that are suitable for the Company.
- Need prior experience with HVAC bidding and familiarity with reading MEP plans specific to HVAC.
- Work with various vendors in obtaining pricing and being detailed oriented
Job Duties:
- Act as a project manager to ensure all construction projects are monitored and key tasks are attended in a timely manner
- Work with Vendors on P.O.S, delivery dates, equipment & material submittal documents
- Create and manage Project entries in QuickBooks
- Work with Management to stay on top of bidding timelines for construction projects and create bid proposals, as well as timely billing on construction projects
- Familiarity with plans/specifications and ability to read/understand bids requests (plus)
- Other assigned duties as directed by management
- Manage relationship with key clients, key vendors and grow the construction HVAC book of business
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- 5-10 year experience in a Construction environment
- Intermediate knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within Construction.
- Can put together O&M Manuals and complete certified payroll requirements
- Strong MS. Office Skills (Word/Excel and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat to generate and modify PDF documents
- Maintain schedule for VP of Construction, organize tasks and ensure deadlines are met
- Detail oriented and being able to read the Engineers specification on various HVAC plans.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
