About the Role:
Garick Topeka Biomass Facility is seeking a reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our mulch, soil, and compost production team. This position plays a key role in operating machinery, maintaining production flow, and supporting daily yard operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a wheel loader, excavator, dozer, hammer mill grinder, and various screening equipment (trommel or deck screen).
- Color mulch and operate front-end loaders as needed.
- Work as part of a manufacturing/processing team.
- Follow supervisor instructions to meet daily production goals.
- Maintain assigned equipment and report issues as needed.
- Comply with all safety rules, procedures, and company standards.
- Perform additional yard or production tasks as assigned.
Schedule & Pay:
- Full-time, 40-50 hours/week; paid overtime available.
- Additional Saturday overtime opportunities.
- Starting pay: $18/hour, higher based on experience.
Qualifications
- Experience preferred but not required-training provided.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk most of the shift.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Comfortable working outdoors in a production environment.
