We are seeking a dynamic Event Sales Account Manager to join our team and contribute to the success of our industry-leading events.


Gardner Business Media offers a hybrid work environment, with Monday, Wednesday and Thursday in the office in Cincinnati, OH; and Tuesday and Friday being optional work from home days, upon Manager approval.

About this Role:

The Event Sales Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by selling sponsorships, exhibit space, and other event-related opportunities for Gardner Business Media’s growing portfolio of trade shows, conferences, and events. This role requires a proactive, results-oriented professional with strong sales acumen and relationship-building skills. The Event Sales Account Manager will report to the Director of Event Sales and collaborate closely with marketing, operations, and editorial teams to deliver exceptional value to clients.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Marketing exhibits, sponsorships and corporate memberships to existing and potential vendors.
  • Initiate calls to vendors that have provided sponsorships in the past but have not renewed their sponsorships.
  • Convert telephone inquiries into opportunities, and influences customers to buy or renew sponsorships.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors. Ensure and coordinate appropriate exposure for corporate sponsorships. 
  • Resolve customer inquiries through consistent use of standard work processes and best-known methods.
  • Demonstrate skill, expertise, and capability in the use of standardized work processes to resolve customer issues.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement.
  • Actively seek, document, and communicate better-known methods that would improve productivity and enhance customer relationships.
  • Additional responsibilities including recording and tracking leads, and general administration related to the sale.


Qualifications:

  • Clear and consistent communicator and facilitator for change and positive action.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and capitalize on growth opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors in Communication or Marketing or related area
  • 1 years of related experience in marketing and/or sales or other related positions is preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Competent skills in e-communications and in using Microsoft Office
  • Association experience is a plus 
  • Ability to Travel (10-20%)
