Job Summary
Gardere Community Christian School is seeking a passionate, dependable, and nurturing Employee Nursery Teacher to provide loving care for the children of our staff members. In this role, you will create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where young children can learn, play, and grow while their parents serve our school community.
The ideal candidate has a heart for children, a strong understanding of early childhood development, and a desire to foster a joyful atmosphere that supports each child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact during the most formative years of a child's life while serving within a Christ-centered school community.
The nursery currently serves two children who are approximately 18 months old; however, the ages and number of children may vary from year to year based on staff needs. Candidates should be comfortable caring for children ranging from infancy through preschool age.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and learning through play.
- Supervise children throughout the day, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being.
- Support children's individual developmental needs and provide responsive care.
- Maintain daily routines, including meals, diapering, naps, playtime, and learning activities.
- Foster positive behavior and model kindness, respect, and cooperation.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with staff parents regarding their child's day and developmental progress.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming nursery environment.
- Follow all school policies and health and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure a positive experience for children and families.
Qualifications
- College coursework or a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
- Previous experience working with infants and young children in a childcare, daycare, preschool, nursery, nanny, or babysitting setting.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices.
- Strong classroom management and behavior guidance skills.
- Ability to lift, carry, and actively engage with young children throughout the day.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Must pass a background check.

Daily Hours: 7:15/ 8:00-3:45 (Depending on the day)
Pay: $17.00 per hour
