Part-Time Box Truck Driver / Plant Handling Crew Member
Gardens at Cheshire is hiring a reliable, hands-on non-CDL box truck driver for approximately 20 hours per week during our seasonal plant pickup and delivery period.
This is not a driving-only position. You’ll be part of the crew moving large tropical plants and planters between clients’ homes, our greenhouse, and delivery locations throughout Connecticut and nearby areas.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a 26ft non-CDL box truck
- Assist with loading, securing, unloading, and placing plants and containers
- Help protect plants, client properties, and equipment during transport
- Work as part of a small crew on pickup and delivery days
- Maintain a professional, courteous presence at high-end residential properties
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Comfortable driving a box truck
- Able to lift, carry, push, and maneuver heavy plants and containers with a team
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with physical outdoor work
- Must be available weekdays; occasional weekend availability is a plus
Experience with landscaping, nursery work, moving, delivery, or plant care is helpful but not required.
