What You'll Do
- Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential.
- Follows Residents’ Rights policies at all times.
- Weighs soiled laundry loads.
- Checks and cleans equipment for proper functioning.
- Sorting and Washing:
- Uses personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Sorts soiled articles according to type, color, contamination.
- Removes stains as needed.
- Washes soiled laundry, entering the correct wash program.
- Reports equipment defects to the supervisor.
- Removes PPE and washes hands before leaving soiled linen area.
- Drying and Finishing:
- Dries wet laundry load.
- Removes dry linens.
- Sorts and folds/hang personal clothes.
- Linen Distribution:
- Loads carts and transports laundry.
- Labeling:
- Prints and affixes resident name labels to personal garments.
- Follows waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy.
- Identifies and reports any equipment malfunction to the supervisor.
- Attends department and corporate in-service training programs.
- Handles clean and soiled laundry according to established infection control policies and procedures.
- Distributes clothing to resident rooms in accordance with the theft loss program.
- Changes chemical drums.
- Assumes Quality Assurance duties as assigned.
- Consistently works cooperatively with volunteers, residents, resident representatives, and facility staff.
- Accepts and performs all duties assigned in a cooperative, effective, timely and professional manner.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and printed instructions.
- Good physical and mental health, sense of responsibility, and high degree of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
- Ability to cooperate with others.
