IPM Technician
Job Description
The responsibilities of the IPM Tech within Garden Remedies broadly embrace the key areas described below. The IPM Tech focus will be monitoring, adjusting and working with biological pest management. Working with the IPM manager, the IPM Tech will assist in the day-to-day operations of growing consistent, high-quality marijuana while remaining fully consistent with Garden Remedies’ Standard Operating Procedures. Extensive knowledge of the plant and its environment are necessary for success.
Duties:
· Implements cultivation techniques and methodologies at various stages of plant growth and development, as directed by IPM manager.
· Assists IPM manager in any duties needed.
· Assists in the operations of the grow, to include but not limited to set-up, cleaning of pots and equipment, repotting, cloning and all other duties as required.
· Mix, apply, and monitor various recommended chemicals, fertilizers, compounds, and baits to be used for treatment, elimination, or control of specific conditions found.
· Operate equipment and tools for purposes of pesticide application or eradication of weeds and other pests along rights-of-way, lakes, and other properties and surface areas such as; sprayers of various types, truck sprayer, small boat, power or hand equipment and other specialized tools, equipment, and vehicles.
· Work with IPM specialists to ensure best practices.
· Receive, store, select, mix, package and prepare toxic materials using safe practices. (or in accordance with manufacturers recommended safety procedures).
· Monitor progress of pest management efforts.
· Applies products through spraying, treating, and baiting to control pests using sound judgment in selecting appropriate materials and methods and safe practices.
· Monitors all cultivation rooms for IPM related issues (insects, fungi, bacterial infection)
· Ability to distinguish between harmful and helpful biologicals
· Comprehensive knowledge of “25b Exempt Pesticide List” ( list of acceptable pesticides )
· Ability to use any and all IPM equipment (Spray cart, Dram sprayer, backpack sprayer, PPE )
· Maintains a respectful and business-like work environment.
· Maintains a serious, positive and team-oriented approach to Security, reporting any security concerns or breaches immediately to designated person(s).
Responsibilities:
· Assists the IPM manager daily to ensure that whatever that needs to be done within the facility and with the plants is completed in a timely manner.
· Reviews daily check lists and ensures that the appropriate procedures within each room are completed and ensures that the rooms are clean and in good working order.
· Is responsible for adhering to Garden Remedies’ Security Policies and Procedures as well as the MA DPH’s regulations 105 CMR 725.110: Security Requirements for Registered Marijuana Dispensaries.
REQUIRED SKILLS
? At least 21 years of age.
? Must be able to pass a background check
? Must not have been convicted of any felony offense
? Medical marijuana and recreational marijuana knowledge highly desirable
? Experience in a complex, fast-paced environment
? Ability to genuinely and respectfully connect with coworkers

? Ability to pass all required background checks to work with cannabis
? Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as necessary
? Ability to lift 40 lb. spraying backpack apparatus

Supervision:
? Works under the general supervision of the Cultivation managers
? This position is not responsible for supervising other employees
