Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to the developmental needs of preschool children, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and positive behavior management.
- Use child development instruction techniques to support individual learning styles and developmental milestones.
- Engage in classroom management strategies to maintain an organized, respectful space conducive to active learning.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, behavior, and classroom activities to foster strong home-school connections.
- Incorporate early intervention strategies for children requiring additional support or special education services.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records related to student progress and safety protocols.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or early childhood education settings.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and childhood development best practices.
- Skilled in curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing age-appropriate activities.
- Experience with behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies.
- Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention programs, and literacy education methods.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and team collaboration.
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws, first aid, CPR certification, and child welfare standards.
- Ability to teach physical education activities and incorporate movement into daily routines.
- Experience with standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood assessment.
- Prior daycare or private school experience is preferred; bilingual abilities are a plus.
