Garden Isle Courier is Kauaʻi's trusted local courier and delivery service, helping businesses and residents move deliveries quickly and reliably. We're looking for a Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys helping people while keeping operations organized and on schedule.
Position Summary
As the Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative, you will be the communication hub between our customers and drivers—coordinating routes, tracking deliveries, answering calls, and ensuring a smooth experience from pickup to drop-off. This role requires strong multitasking skills, clear communication, and excellent attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls, texts, and emails from customers
- Schedule pickups and deliveries accurately and efficiently
- Dispatch drivers and coordinate routes in real time
- Provide delivery updates, ETAs, and issue resolution
- Enter job details into dispatch software and maintain accurate records
- Communicate proactively with drivers regarding route changes, delays, and priorities
- Handle billing notes, service questions, and basic customer account support
- Maintain a calm, professional attitude during high-volume periods
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Strong customer service and phone communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using computers, dispatch software, email, and texting systems
- Accurate data entry and detail-oriented work habits
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Preferred:
- Dispatch experience (courier, delivery, taxi, medical transport, logistics, etc.)
- Familiarity with Kauaʻi geography and local routes
- Experience handling high call volume
- Bilingual (Hawaiian / Tagalog / Japanese / other) a plus
Work Environment
- Office-based role with frequent communication with drivers and customers
- High pace during peak delivery windows
- Requires sitting, typing, and phone work for most of the day
