Job Overview
Garden Island is a seasonal (May-September) lake front summer rental business with 6 properties on lake Champlain in Charlotte Vermont. Our property is an island on the lake, only accessable by boat. This is a unique and position for the right candidates.
We are looking for individuals who can provide a variety of services to help manage and maintain the properties and provide support to guests throughout the season. These include but are not limited to
1. Transporting guests off and onto the island by our boat. A Vermont boaters license is required, but can be aquired at anytime. You do not need it to apply for this position, but will need it before the first day of work.
2. Maintain the grounds, mowing lawns, fixing fences, organize beach area, overall property maintence
3. Act as the point person for all guest services, helping load and unload people and luggage in and out of the cabins. Addressing any issues as they arise related to guests needs
4. Opening and preparing all the homes prior to the start of the season (End of May) and closing all the homes and winterizing (mid September). This includes putting all docks and boats in the water, and pulling them out at the end of the season

More info about the position
- General knowledge of boats and small tractors is a plus (but not a requirement)
- A Boaters license will be required prior to start date, but not needed to apply. You can get it online
- Experience with weed whackers, ride on lawn mowers, chainsaws and carpentry tools is a helpful in this position
- This position does require some overnight stays throughout the season. A private bunk room with kitchen is provided to staff to stay on property.
- We are in a remote part of Vermont, ability to get to work will require a car if you do not live locally.
