Garden Island LLC is seeking a motivated Social Media Marketing Intern to join our team. This is a primarily remote position with optional opportunities to work on-site in Charlotte, VT.
This role is ideal for college students currently enrolled in a 4-year institution who are interested in pursuing a career in marketing, communications, or digital media. The intern will take an active role in managing and growing our TikTok and Instagram platforms, while also supporting website updates and promotional efforts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating, editing, and scheduling engaging content for TikTok and Instagram
- Designing graphics and visual content using tools such as Canva
- Assisting in promoting our family-owned rental business and hiring efforts for on-site staff
- Supporting website content updates and blog or listing posts
- Researching trends to increase engagement and brand visibility
- Collaborating with the team to align content with marketing goals
- Tracking and analyzing social media performance metrics
This is a hands-on, creative role where interns will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects and build a strong portfolio.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a 4-year college or university (Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred)
- Experience using social media platforms, especially TikTok and Instagram
- Familiarity with Canva or similar design tools
- Basic understanding of marketing principles and digital trends
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Creative mindset with attention to detail
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to meet deadlines
- Interest in sustainability, small business, or community-focused work is a plus
