Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Host/Server Assistant to join our dynamic Garden District team in our fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Host/Busser, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guests have an exceptional dining experience by maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant, greeting guests with warmth and hospitality, and managing take out orders. Your responsibilities will include assisting servers, clearing tables, managing reservations, managing waitlists, taking and packaging take out orders, and supporting overall guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Clear and reset tables promptly after guests leave to prepare for the next customers.
- Keep the entry way clean and welcoming to guests at all times.
- Plan and execute each evenings reservations smoothly.
- Assist servers with cleaning glassware, silverware, pre-bussing, and delivering food as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, including floors, tables, and service stations.
- Answer phones and take orders by utilizing our POS system.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and communication.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and staff.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not required..
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette for guest inquiries.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A team player who is willing to help colleagues and contribute to a positive work atmosphere.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
