Garden County Health Services (GCHS) is a Rural Emergency Hospital offering EMS, nursing home, clinic, and critical access hospital services to the Oshkosh community and surrounding areas. As the EMS Manager at GCHS, you will play a vital leadership role in ensuring high‑quality pre‑hospital care, supporting your EMS team, and strengthening emergency response services in a rural community that deeply values its healthcare professionals.
🚑What You’ll Do as the GCHS EMS Manager
In this leadership role, you’ll combine clinical expertise, operational oversight, and strong communication skills to guide the EMS department. You will:
- Oversee daily EMS operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality emergency response
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics
- Maintain compliance with state and federal EMS regulations
- Develop and implement department policies, protocols, and training programs
- Coordinate scheduling, staffing, and on‑call rotations
- Collaborate with hospital leadership, nursing staff, and community partners
- Manage EMS equipment, supplies, and vehicle readiness
- Participate in budgeting, strategic planning, and quality improvement initiatives
- Promote a positive, team‑centered culture focused on patient safety and professional growth
⭐ You May Be a Great Fit If You Have:
- Current Nebraska EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic certification (Paramedic preferred)
- 2 years of EMS experience; leadership experience strongly preferre
- Strong knowledge of EMS protocols, emergency response, and rural healthcare needs
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification (ACLS/PALS preferred)
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to lead with professionalism, fairness, and a commitment to patient‑centered care
