SUMMARY
A warehouse operator for the Garden City Co-op is expected to keep a clean and organized warehouse that is free and clear of all safety hazards. A warehouse operator may also be asked to load packaged and bulk chemicals, liquid and dry fertilizer, and seed products
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Use a forklift to load and unload chemical and seed.
- Assists with inventory counts and controls.
- Accurately select and load products to be delivered to producers.
- Responsible for filling chemical shuttles.
- Safely drive delivery truck to and from destination
- Maintains vehicles by completing preventive maintenance requirements; coordinate with warehouse manager to arrange repairs.
- Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Reads, understands, and complies with company safety policies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have your own reliable source of transportation to and from the job site
- Must have or be able to obtain CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements
- Basic computer knowledge
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Climb ladders
- Lifting and bending
- Load and unload seed and chemical
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Hot or cold environments
- Dusty working conditions
- Long hours during peak seasons
