What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher- Food Service/Restaurant position at Garden Catering?
Position Overview:
As a Dishwasher- Food Service/Restaurant, you are an integral part of our kitchen team; ensuring safety, and cleanliness, and keeping the house in order. You’ll wash dishes, tools, and equipment, as well as maintain the organization of walk-ins, freezers, storage rooms, and prep spaces. You are also considered part of the Prep crew and may have food-handling tasks such as portioning and prepping items.
Dishwasher- Food Service/Restaurant Responsibilities:
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment in tools using a dish machine as well as 3 bay sink hand-washing protocols.
- Ensure all food handling tools and utensils are clean, sanitized, and organized for use.
- Maintain overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, walk-in’s, storage areas, bathrooms, and dining room while adhering to sanitation standards and safety regulations at all times.
- Sweep and mop the floors to maintain clean areas of the restaurant
- Take out the trash and recycling and ensure exterior of building is clean and well maintained.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks on a regular schedule to maintain our equipment and workspace.
- Participate in prepping ingredients for service by chopping vegetables, portioning, and assembling other items for the kitchen team.
- Collaborate with BOH team to uphold a positive and productive work environment.

Dishwasher- Food Service/Restaurant Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Some knowledge of food safety procedures and kitchen equipment is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a team-oriented, fast-paced work environment.
- Attention to detail and dedication to maintaining high culinary standards.
- You have the ability to lift 50 lbs. consistently while twisting, reaching, and bending.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings.
