Garcia Street Club Preschool is seeking an experienced early childhood educator to join our teaching team!
We are looking for a Lead Toddler Teacher to work with our youngest group (12 to 24 months) along with two other teachers in a joyful, Reggio Emilia-inspired, play-based classroom. Our ideal candidate will have a solid knowledge of developmentally-appropriate practice, experience working with young children in the classroom setting, and a desire to make a difference in the lives of young children and their families. The Lead Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a warm, nurturing, and intellectually engaging learning environment inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. The teacher serves as a co-learner, researcher, and guide—supporting each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through project- and relationship-based emergent curriculum and close observation.
Essential Duties:
- Lead a team of 3 educators in planning and implementing a well-rounded toddler curriculum, mentoring assistant teachers in best practice and classroom managment
- Build trusting, respectful relationships with families through open communication and collaboration
- Ensure the physical and emotional safety of each child in accordance with licensing regulations and school policies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the classroom and shared spaces
- Conduct family conferences, share documentation, and invite families to participate in classroom life and school events
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of Associate's degree or ECE Certification with willingness to complete professional development plan and continue education in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
- Minimum 2 years classroom experience
- Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
- Strong understanding of child development and emergent curriculum
- Excellent communication skills
- Commitment to anti-bias education and inclusive practices.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
