Garcia Street Club, a 5-Star, nationally-accredited preschool, located on the historic east side of Santa Fe for 80 years, is seeking an experienced preschool teacher. Come work with us! We're looking for a motivated, friendly, and experienced teacher to join us as an Assistant Teacher or Co-Lead (depending on qualifications) in our Pre-K classroom. Our Reggio Emilia-inspired program is hands-on, play-based, and deeply rooted in social-emotional learning. Compensation is dependent upon experience and education.

Ideal candidate will have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or the equivalent number of credit hours in ECE or a related field in addition to at least one year of experience teaching young children in a play-based environment, plus solid communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude. Solid knowledge of social-emotional development and sensory-rich emergent curriculum is a plus!

Job Responsibilities:

• Work with co-teacher to implement well-rounded, project-based, Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum
• Support children in providing a safe, loving, organized, and enriching classroom environment
• Maintain documentation of children’s learning, including photos, video, and anecdotes
• Provide ongoing assessment of children’s developmental milestones through focused portfolios and developmental checklists
• Maintain positive relationships and open communication with families

Skills Required:

• Ability to pass comprehensive background check

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workplace
• Creativity and flexibility
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Solid knowledge of developmentally-appropriate practice, classroom management, and positive discipline and guidance strategies
