We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual, already living in or nearby Summit County, Co, to join our team in a dual role as a Driver and Sales Representative. This hybrid position combines hands-on service with customer acquisition, offering a unique opportunity to grow both operational and professional sales skills. As a driver, you will operate light to medium-duty trucks (CDL preferred but not required) to deliver receptacles to new customers and safely collect and haul trash, single-stream recycling, glass-only recycling, and food scraps for composting from residential bins throughout Summit County. As a sales representative, you will also play a key role in growing our customer base by engaging prospective clients, promoting our services, and converting leads into active accounts.
Qualified candidates will start at $30/ hour with at least 35 hours of work guaranteed each week, with additional weekly, monthly, and annual bonuses for acquiring new customers—potentially increasing your annual earnings to $122,440 or more. Responsibilities
- Collect acceptable recycling, food scraps or waste from residential and commercial locations in Summit County, operate compactor controls, and haul and deliver contents to the SCRAP/ Dillon Landfill
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Follow routes and meet delivery schedules
- Document collections, log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel receipts
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Report defects, accidents or violations
- Network and canvass in Garbage Gurus collection areas to attract and acquire new customers.
- Follow sales methods & procedures.
- Keep and submit accurate sales forms and logs.
Skills
- Proven work experience as a truck driver
- Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, etc)
- Ability to drive long hours
- Extensive knowledge of applicable driving rules and regulations
- No recent moving or driving violations
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
- Valid driving license (No CDL required)
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in sales
