Job Summary
Assist in leading and directing the distribution center operations and logistics at our warehouse including all aspects warehouse management, including, but not limited to, inbound freight, product receiving, put away, pulling, packing, shipping, reprocessing, inventory management, and personnel management for the Company in a cost effective manner.
Key Job Responsibilities
Impact on Business
· Meet or exceed on a monthly and quarterly basis, the dollar and unit volume goals set forth by the individual business units supported by the distribution center.
· Minimize exposure to charge backs by monitoring relevant practices at distribution center.
· Maintain or reduce cost per unit while simultaneously identifying efficiencies and developing a plan of action to realize potential cost savings.
· Ensure that Inventory Process Controls are followed to avoid any possible financial exposure.
Innovation and Change
· Creative problem solving in an environment where priorities are in constant flux
· Lead the training of employees in the policies and procedures including, but not limited to MIS, Inventory Control, order processes, safety measures, employee policies, and warehouse systems
· Assist in training when needed at other internal and 3pl facilities
· Ensure inventory is managed at the DZ/Case level and location level, so we fill customers’ orders correctly and maintain financial integrity of our inventory position
· Monitor the prompt processing of orders to customers to ensure that customers’ order fulfillment and shipment requirements are met or exceeded
· Ensure that customers’ compliance and regulations are being adhered to
· Monitor the incoming flow of trailers to ensure accurate and timely receipts
· Ensure interplant transfers are shipped in a timely manner
· Ensure employee relations are handled in a manner that promotes a positive work environment where issues are addressed timely that balances employee morale with the Company's core values and customer needs and makes third-party outside interference in our business unnecessary
· Ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
Internal & External Customers / Suppliers as well as Third Parties
· Assist in directing and motivating all management personnel within the facility to meet or exceed company goals
· Take direction from (and in some cases, give feedback to) all business units within the Company
· Coordinate with carriers and consolidators for adequate service levels
· Communicate with retail partners (typically Logistics Departments) to guarantee that their orders are processed and shipped to meet or exceed their expectations.
People Leadership
· All employees of our distribution centers:
- Implement system enhancements and train local staff on new procedures
- Monitor warehouse procedures to ensure local staff is following them correctly.
- Train and make procedural adjustments in concert with upper and local management as necessary
- Spearhead processing of new products that would fit the distribution center
- Hold weekly update meetings with staff to review 90 day volume projections, current warehousing issues, shipping, receiving, rework processing, and inventory control expectations.
· Partner with Sales and Production - our internal customers to ensure all goals are met
· Partner with all Management and Support to ensure all Corporate and Regulations goals are met
KPIs– Key Performance Indicators
· Accurate and on time shipments to all business customers
- Inventory accuracy at DZ/Case level and location level maintaining financial integrity of our inventory position to enable correct and complete fulfillment of customers’ orders.
- Elimination / minimization of chargebacks from customers
- Cost per dozen at or under budget
- Ship customers’ orders to meet expectations for on-time shipping, order fill-rate & accuracy, and compliance
Educational Background
· Requires at least 5 years of distribution center experience
· College degree preferred, but not required (offset by greater years of experience)
Professional Certifications / Licenses

Professional Knowledge
· Cursory knowledge of OSHA and DOT/ICC regulations relative to a warehousing environment.
Other Skills (e.g. IT, language, etc.)
· Knowledgeable in MS Office, with Excel expertise required
· Knowledgeable in Simparel and warehouse systems
General Requirements for Position (e.g. Physical requirements)
· Could require to be standing or working on warehouse floor all day at times
