Garage Door Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Garage Door Technician to join our team! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of garage doors and related hardware. Your expertise will ensure our customers’ garage systems operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Duties

• Install new garage doors, including hanging doors, aligning tracks, and securing hardware using hand tools and power tools.
• Conduct repairs on malfunctioning garage doors, including replacing springs, cables, rollers, and hinges.
• Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, adjustments, and inspections to ensure optimal operation.
• Handle heavy lifting of door panels and hardware safely using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Install related fixtures such as locks, handles, sensors, and electrical components with electrical experience when applicable.
• Fabricate or modify parts on-site using metal angle, carpentry tools, or fabrication equipment to meet specific installation needs.
• Conduct glass installation for windows or panels within garage doors as required.
• Perform caulking and trim carpentry to ensure weather-tight seals and finished aesthetics.
• Read schematics and technical instructions to troubleshoot issues effectively on construction sites or in shop environments.
• Maintain a clean work area during projects and ensure all safety protocols are followed diligently.
• Collaborate with team members on remodeling projects involving door hanging or fixture installation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with door hanging, or related construction work.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including springs, cables, rollers, hinges, and electrical components of garage doors.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches), power tools (drills, saws), and specialized fabrication equipment.
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly.
• Background in construction site work or remodeling projects is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of carpentry (trim carpentry, frame carpentry) is a plus.
• Electrical experience related to sensor wiring or motorized door systems is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly on-site or in the shop environment.

Pay: $17.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 65 per week
