Production Lead (Swing Shift)

Gantri is the most awarded design manufacturer in America.Your RoleThe Production Lead is a hands-on leader responsible for executing daily production operations while directly supporting and developing production teams.This role is integrated into the work. Leading by doing, stepping in where needed, and operating as a trusted teammate and role model for excellence. At the same time, this role holds direct responsibility for team performance, including real-time labor allocation, training, coaching, and day-to-day people oversight.The role will begin training on the Day Shift (6:00am–2:30pm) to build a strong understanding of Gantri’s production systems and processes, then transition into leading the Swing Shift (2:00pm–10:00pm). In this phase, the Production Lead will take ownership of swing shift execution, coordination, and continuous improvement.This role works closely with Production Management, Engineering, QA/QC, Facilities, and HR to continuously improve execution in a fast-moving, evolving manufacturing environment.Core DutiesWork directly on the production floor alongside operators to support daily output and maintain flowStep in as needed to unblock work, rebalance labor, and resolve real-time issuesEnsure work is completed safely, accurately, and in alignment with SOPsModel strong floor behavior and standards through direct participationLeading From WithinProvide day-to-day direction, coaching, and support to production operatorsTrain and upskill team members across stations and processesReallocate people in real time based on workload, skill level, and prioritiesAddress performance issues promptly and respectfullyParticipate in performance reviews and provide input on employee growth and readinessFlow, Quality & Problem SolvingIdentify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and recurring issues across departmentsMonitor throughput, WIP, yields, and machine status via dashboards and floor observationMake practical, real-time adjustments to staffing, sequencing, or prioritiesEscalate quality, safety, or equipment concerns with context and recommendationsSurface systemic issues and contribute to longer-term improvementsCommunication & CoordinationServe as a clear communication bridge between production teams and managementCoordinate daily handoffs between day and swing shifts to ensure alignment on priorities and open workLead swing shift execution with increasing autonomy as day shift winds downContribute to daily production reporting and documentationCoordinate with Engineering, QA/QC, Facilities, and HR to resolve issuesDay-to-Day Operational SupportReview and complete employee timecards, including overtime notes, missed lunches, and absencesSupport inventory checks, receiving, and reporting of deliveriesAssist with incident reporting, safety documentation, and required recordsRequired Skills & Experience2–3 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or operations environmentDemonstrated hands-on floor experience working directly with hourly teamsExperience leading or guiding teams in real time (formal supervisor title not required)Ability to balance execution, quality, safety, and people needs under pressureComfort influencing outcomes both with and without formal authorityStrong judgment in fast-paced, partially defined environmentsClear, direct, and respectful communication styleFamiliarity with SOP-driven manufacturing and safety standardsComfortable using production dashboards, timekeeping systems, and basic tools (Google Workspace, etc.)Valid CA Driver’s LicensePhysical RequirementsStanding and walking on the production floor for extended periods (8 hours)Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbsRepetitive motion and use of hands for demonstrations or inspectionsAbility to respond quickly to safety or operational issuesNice to HaveCuriosity about 3D printing and digital manufacturingFamiliarity with tools like Notion, Slack, Asana, or GrafanaExperience in startup or evolving manufacturing environmentsExposure to continuous improvement or lean conceptsA shift differential will apply once the role transitions to swing shift.
