Rooms Inspector / Office Coordinator
Compensation: $26.69 per hour

We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and service-driven Rooms Inspector / Office Coordinator to join our Housekeeping team. This dual-role position combines quality assurance with administrative coordination to ensure our guestrooms, public spaces, and departmental operations consistently meet the highest standards.
Position Summary
The Rooms Inspector / Office Coordinator is responsible for inspecting guest rooms and public areas to ensure they meet Gansevoort's luxury hospitality standards while also supporting the daily administrative operations of the Housekeeping Department. This role serves as a key liaison between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and other hotel departments to ensure efficient operations and outstanding guest satisfaction.
Essential ResponsibilitiesRoom Inspection & Quality Assurance
- Perform detailed inspections of guest rooms, suites, VIP accommodations, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure compliance with luxury hospitality standards.
- Verify room cleanliness and readiness before updating room status in the Property Management System.
- Document inspection findings and communicate deficiencies to Housekeeping team members for immediate correction.
- Monitor room progress throughout the day to ensure daily assignments are completed efficiently.
- Coordinate maintenance requests with the Engineering Department and follow through until completion.
- Inspect minibar inventory, ensure accurate posting of charges, and replenish inventory as needed.
- Verify that guest amenities, promotional materials, and in-room accessories are properly presented and fully stocked.
- Monitor expiration dates of guest products and replace items as necessary.
- Deliver and coordinate special guest amenities and requests promptly and professionally.
- Log and maintain Lost & Found items in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and on-the-job training to Room Attendants to maintain quality standards.
- Assist with cleaning duties during emergencies or periods of high occupancy.
Office Coordination
- Serve as the communication hub for the Housekeeping Department by answering incoming calls promptly and professionally.
- Dispatch guest requests and work orders using Knowcross while monitoring completion and follow-up.
- Monitor team member logins, parked calls, and departmental communication throughout each shift.
- Maintain key, radio, and equipment inventories.
- Assist with purchasing, inventory management, vendor orders, and purchase orders.
- Support monthly departmental inventory counts.
- Review daily occupancy forecasts and assist leadership with staffing adjustments based on business needs.
- Prepare reports and maintain spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Housekeeping and Housekeeping Manager.
- Assist with additional departmental projects and operational tasks as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
- Previous housekeeping supervisory, room inspection, or hotel operations experience preferred.
- Luxury hotel experience is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with hotel property management systems and Knowcross is preferred.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain mobile throughout an 8-hour shift.
- Frequently bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs, and inspect guest rooms.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate housekeeping equipment.
- Ability to communicate clearly with guests and team members.
