Overview
As a Senior Accountant at Gannon & Scott, you’ll play a key role in managing the company’s financial health. You’ll oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, and help guide budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis. This role also provides leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, contributing to a culture of collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Manage core accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, cash management, and transaction posting.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closings to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
- Oversee fixed-asset tracking and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
- Partner with leadership and department heads to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with auditors and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development and teamwork.
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and transparency.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to adapt to new systems.
- A collaborative, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic, team-driven environment.
- Commitment to professionalism, accuracy, and continuous learning.
