Responsible for the day-to-day coordination and management of all on-site building construction activities. Essential Responsibilities:
- Supervisory and Team Leadership:
- Manage and Supervise Crews: Lead, manage, and mentor trade foremen, subcontractors, and construction workers, delegating tasks and responsibilities according to priorities and plans.
- Create Work Schedules: Produce and maintain detailed work schedules, monitor crew attendance, and assign tasks to optimize productivity and meet deadlines.
- Training and Performance: Train and guide new workers and apprentices, monitor performance, and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Conflict Resolution: Mediate and resolve any on-site conflicts or miscommunications between different teams or subcontractors promptly and amicably.
- Project Management and Oversight:
- Ensure Project Quality: Conduct regular on-site inspections to monitor construction progress, ensure quality standards are met, and verify compliance with blueprints and specifications.
- Read and Interpret Plans: Read, interpret, and explain complex project plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to crew members to ensure correct execution of all project details.
- Oversee Site Logistics: Manage and coordinate all daily site operations, including the flow of work, movement of heavy equipment, and efficient use of resources.
- Budget Management: Monitor and track project expenses, manage the budget for materials and labor, and report any potential overruns to management.
- Health and Safety:
- Safety Enforcement: Strictly implement and enforce all company, Federal (OSHA), and local safety regulations to ensure safe working environment.
- Hazard Prevention: Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement preventative measures.
- Incidence Response: Lead immediate response efforts in the event of an on-site incident, including first aid and communicating with Senior Management.
- Safety Documentation: Maintain detailed records for health and safety purposes, including reporting any incents and conducting safety audits.
- Communication and Administration:
- Reporting: Prepare and present daily or weekly progress reports, including updates on budget, schedule, and quality control, to supervisors, project managers, and engineers.
- Procurement: Order and track necessary materials, tools, and equipment, and schedule deliveries to prevent project delays.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Function as a primary point of contact between on-site crews, subcontractors, and senior management to ensure clear communication and address any issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Education: High School diploma or a certification in a skilled trade.
Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory or related role with extensive knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and best practices.
Technical expertise: Ability to lead and motivate a team; manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently; understanding of building construction concepts, practices and procedures; ability to read, understand and organize construction blueprints and specifications; math skills; analytical skills; problem solving abilities, good verbal and written communication skills; computer skills; familiarity with construction software (e.g., PROCORE).
