The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in graphic design, photography (digital and film), video production, emerging media tools, and ceramics. We're seeking someone who combines artistic expertise with a passion for developing engaging, student-centered curriculum with clear objectives, compelling activities, and thoughtful assessments that move students toward skill and content mastery. This full-time teaching role includes course instruction, student advising, and active participation in community life.

This full-time teaching role includes course instruction, student advising, and active participation in community life.
Essential Functions
Teaching Duties
- Teach arts courses across multiple levels, including Graphic Design, Pottery, and 9 th Grade Media Arts Foundations.
- Offer differentiated instruction to serve a wide range of learners.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues in person and via email.
- Maintain classroom materials, including digital equipment, darkroom tools, pottery wheels, and kiln.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary projects and student exhibitions.
- Serve as a student advisor or the equivalent.
- Serve as club advisor or the equivalent.
- Attend and participate in communal programs outside the classroom during school hours, modeling and encouraging appropriate behavior while monitoring students during events and programming.
- Attend and participate in open houses, graduation, and other special events, which may take place in the evenings and/or weekends.
- Work with students outside of the classroom as needed.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments.
- Attend and participate in department meetings; collaborate with department members and the instructional director on curriculum development, lesson planning, student issues, and department initiatives.
- Assist colleagues with substitution when able; arrange and communicate class coverage as needed.
- Attend and participate in all faculty/staff workday programs, in-service training (including both August and June in-service days), orientation programs, seminars, and safety training/drills.
- Pursue professional development opportunities in or out of school; display willingness and ability to grow, learn, and practice self-reflection; work with an instructional director and other members of the faculty and administration on educational and pedagogical growth and innovative tools and techniques in and out of the classroom.
- A Bachelor’s degree is required
- A Master’s degree is preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- A commitment to student-centered, mastery-based teaching
- Strong portfolio in graphic design, photography, video, or multimedia
- Fluency with industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience working with both digital and analog media, including DSLR cameras, editing software, and darkroom processes
- Proficiency in ceramics techniques
- Ability to manage and maintain classroom technology and creative equipment
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Must be proficient in English to carry out work as assigned
