Position Statement


 

The Front Desk Staff / Hybrid Programs Tech Assistant Position is a key community engagement and important customer facing position on the AyurPrana and studio team who supports with customer service, sales, communication, retail, lobby and classroom ambiance. This role also involves supporting hybrid workshops and trainings by running camera, microphone, screen-sharing, and recordings for students participating in programs via ZOOM. The qualities we seek in the person in this role are heart-centered,  warmth, enthusiasm, passion for yoga and the studio, love of social engagement, positivity, genuine care for others and desire to help support and curate their yoga, wellness, and spiritual  journey, keen sense of responsibility and organization, and comfort with technology including basic audio and video for ZOOM. The person in this role works closely with our studio operations manager, front desk sales ambassador, fellow front desk team members, and teachers. This role involves all the elements of customer-facing sales and service at the studio. This person is responsible for building a relationship with our yoga community and ensuring new and existing students feel warmly welcome, seen, nurtured, and supported. This position requires getting to know our students and understand their goals, communicate the benefits of a regular practice at our studio, and sell our packages, memberships, and teacher training programs based on the student's ideal practice. The Front Desk Staff/ Hybrid Programs Tech Assistant Position is also responsible for maintaining the ambiance, cleanliness, and tidiness of the lobby, classroom, and bathrooms. 


This position is located in Asheville, NC. This is not a remote position.


Schedule needs: Monday 2:30-9pm and Friday 4-9pm. Plus flexibility for additional hours for hybrid programs and tech assistance. 


Primary duties

  • Customer Service
  • Establish a first name relationship with new and existing students
  • Develop a true connection with students by understanding their yoga experience, special needs and what their goals are
  • Welcome and educate new students on our studio and services
  • Encourage students and keep them informed on classes and workshops that may fit their needs
  • Accurately check in classes/workshops using studio Software
  • Have students complete all necessary forms
  • Assist students with questions they have about their account and/or services
  • Show enthusiasm for bringing potential students into our family. This includes answering questions, supporting them through understanding the culture of AYC 
  • Hold and nurture prospective students to support them in their decision to enroll. Show empathy and compassion for various scenarios that may come up for the potential student.
  • Support marketing and recruiting activities for programs as assigned, becoming quickly knowledgeable of each program 
  • Understand the individual goals of our students and educate them on what classes, events, and teacher trainings can help them meet their personal goals.
  • Be knowledgeable about programs and pricing (classes, workshops, teacher training, retail)
  • Effectively sell Intro Offers to new students, meeting and exceeding monthly sales targets 
  • Effectively convert new students from their Intro Offer to package/membership, meeting and exceeding monthly sales targets through an upsell strategy
  • Posting and ensuring marketing materials in lobby are accurate and up to date
  • Running tech and troubleshooting for hybrid workshops and trainings, via ZOOM, including audio, visual, screen sharing, breakout groups, responding in chat, and recording. 
  • Understanding retail to educate students about products that we sell in our boutique.



Requirements

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year retail or customer service experience preferably within the health and wellness industry.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with point-of-sale software.
  • Basic tech experience that can be build upon running audio and video for ZOOM. 
  • Interest in yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, wellness is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in using computers and operating office equipment
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license  
  • The ability to respond appropriately under pressure.
  • Must have a strong desire for wellness and healing.
  • Must be able to thrive in a rapidly changing, startup environment.
  • Must be detail and solutions oriented.
  • Ability to remain in calm and open demeanor while delivering quick and accessible service.
  • The position requires working in a non-smoking, drug-free environment. The employee must have high personal motivation, with great attention to detail and accuracy, project a positive and vibrant attitude in assisting people, and have high ethics of honesty and confidentiality with a genuine and gracious presence pertaining to the students, faculty, and staff.


Physical Requirements - (not limited to)

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to repetitively stand, stoop, bend, crawl, reach above and below shoulders, repetitive arm and wrist use, climb ladders and stairs, and walk on uneven surfaces.
  • Requires daily use of telephone, computer and other standard office equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle and possess (or have the ability to attain) a valid Driver's License. 
  • Must be able to recognize, register, and respond visually to color and depth perception.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing. 
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors
  • Must be able to work around moderate noise level.
