As a Senior Estimator at Ganem Construction, you will lead the estimating and preconstruction efforts on projects from initial pursuit through final pricing. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee comprehensive conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates.
- Develop and manage system budgets, cost plans, and pricing narratives.
- Perform value engineering and cost optimization strategies aligned with client goals.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and proposals to ensure complete scope coverage.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness of all estimates.
- Lead trade partner outreach and bid leveling, ensuring strong coverage and competitive pricing.
- Build and maintain relationships with key subcontractors and suppliers.
- Evaluate subcontractor proposals for scope completeness and risk.
- Maintain deep knowledge of local market conditions, labor, and material trends.
- Establish best practices, standards, and workflows for the estimating team.
- Promote accountability, organization, and consistency across all estimates.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, clearly communicating budgets and cost drivers.
- Collaborate with design managers, development managers, and operations teams to align scope and pricing.
- Support business development efforts with conceptual budgets and feasibility studies.
- Help refine and improve preconstruction processes, tools, and SOPs.
- Maintain organized documentation and historical cost data.
- Contribute to KPI tracking and performance improvement initiatives.
- 5 years of construction estimating experience (commercial construction preferred).
- Proven experience leading estimates on mid-to-large scale projects.
- Strong understanding of design-build and/or negotiated work.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Office Suite, and AI.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems.
- Ability to interpret and analyze drawings at all design phases.
